Description

  • Support attorneys with a civil litigation caseload of approximately 30 to 70 matters.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of paralegal and legal support work, including task assignment, follow-up, and quality checks.
  • Build and maintain repeatable litigation workflows from intake to close, with clear task ownership and standards.
  • Implement quality control checks for filings, discovery packages, and file management.
  • Train and coach team members on systems, templates, best practices, and internal procedures.
  • Run concise case-status updates for attorneys and escalate risks such as missed deadlines or discovery delays.
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence.
  • Organize and maintain physical and digital case files for accuracy and accessibility.
  • Assist with deposition and trial preparation, including legal research and documentation support.
  • Calendar hearings, depositions, and deadlines and ensure timely communication to relevant parties.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with clients throughout the litigation process.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Experience in New Jersey and New York jurisdictions is advantageous.
  • Insurance defense experience is highly valued.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and PracticePanther or similar case management software.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and accountability.
  • Prior experience leading workflows, mentoring, training, or serving as a lead or senior paralegal.
  • Ability to build and enforce SOPs, templates, and checklists to improve consistency.
  • Strong judgment under pressure and the ability to triage priorities on a busy docket.
