Description

  • Manage cadenced operational tasks, high-priority escalations, and program management work related to data privacy and information security.
  • Evaluate vendors’ data collection practices and security postures and communicate Instacart’s security and privacy requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional privacy and security projects involving multiple stakeholder teams.
  • Track, analyze, and report metrics for InfoSec Ops initiatives and business-critical workflows.
  • Support large-scale audit readiness efforts and related documentation.
  • Serve as the DRI for Trust & Safety privacy and security operations on high-visibility company-wide initiatives, including new market and product expansions.
  • Build and maintain workflow documentation for recurring operational processes.
  • Automate and monitor recurring tasks using AI agents and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Take ownership of privacy and security readiness efforts for high-visibility launches.
  • Drive project work and process improvements to help mature the program.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, risk, legal, or policy operations, ideally in an environment with legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations around sensitive data.
  • 2+ years of experience taking on elevated responsibilities in a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and lead complex, high-visibility operational workflows.
  • Track record of driving cross-functional projects to completion.
  • Familiarity with information security and data privacy concepts and vocabulary.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex privacy and security issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Composure and precision when working in time-sensitive or business-critical situations.
  • Working understanding of business metrics and reporting.
  • Experience related to information security and data privacy operations, especially vendor risk management operations, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with third-party risk management frameworks is preferred.
  • CIPP/CIPM or SEC+ certification is a big plus.

Benefits

  • Remote role with Instacart’s Flex First work policy, allowing employees to work from home, an office, or another flexible location.
  • Highly market-competitive compensation.
  • Base salary range of $95,000-$100,000 for CA, NY, CT, and NJ; $91,000-$96,000 for WA; $86,000-$91,000 for select states; and $79,000-$83,500 for all other states.
  • Eligible for a new hire equity grant.
  • Eligible for annual refresh grants.
  • Access to Instacart’s benefits offerings.
