Description

  • Serve as the primary strategic finance business partner for Instacart Business and Instacart Health.
  • Partner with leadership across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Sales, Commercial, and the C-suite on strategy, business planning, pricing, and resource trade-offs.
  • Bring structure and data to ambiguous business problems and develop clear, executable recommendations.
  • Prepare executive-ready narratives, presentations, and materials for business reviews, planning cycles, and leadership updates.
  • Facilitate strategic planning with cross-functional partners, including sizing opportunities, prioritizing initiatives, and defining performance measurement processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate and improve reporting and planning workflows, including AI-enabled processes.
  • Build and maintain financial models and reporting from scratch to support analysis and decision-making.
  • Self-serve analysis and automate reporting using SQL and BI tools.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while responding quickly to changing stakeholder needs.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, business operations, investment banking, management consulting, or private equity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to build models and reporting from scratch.
  • Proficiency with SQL and BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
  • Experience leveraging AI or scripting to streamline workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of creating executive-ready materials.
  • Ability to work independently, respond proactively to problems, and navigate conflicting stakeholder requirements.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Master’s degree in a business or quantitative discipline such as economics or statistics is preferred.
  • Background in marketplace or early-stage companies is a plus.
  • Preferred location is the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City, though remote candidates in the United States and Canada may apply.
  • For Canadian candidates, hiring is currently limited to Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
