Description

  • Work on high-impact machine learning problems at the intersection of LLM research, large-scale ML systems, and real-world e-commerce applications.
  • Develop query understanding systems that refine user intent and support downstream retrieval and ranking.
  • Improve search relevance and ranking using user behavior signals, catalog knowledge, generative models, hybrid retrieval, and ranking systems.
  • Build generative recommendation systems and scalable feedback/reward modeling approaches for closed-loop learning.
  • Create LLM evaluation and AIQA frameworks such as LLM-as-a-Judge and self-critique methods.
  • Research and deploy low-latency, scalable LLM systems for high-traffic production environments.
  • Work on knowledge graphs for graph data management, knowledge discovery, and natural language interfaces over grocery catalog data.
  • Build temporal sequence models for user behavior prediction.
  • Translate research ideas into scalable production systems.

Requirements

  • Currently a Ph.D. student in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong programming and algorithmic skills in Python and Golang.
  • Solid foundations in machine learning, algorithms, or optimization.
  • Curious, self-motivated, and comfortable working on open-ended problems.
  • Ph.D. student at a top-tier university in the United States preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with generative or traditional modeling frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or vLLM preferred.
  • Prior industry or research internship in machine learning or AI preferred.
  • Interest and experience in translating research ideas into scalable production systems preferred.
