Description

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers building catalog enrichment platforms and ML data interfaces.
  • Define and execute the technical roadmap, balancing platform investment with reliability, observability, and developer experience.
  • Build and operate AI-native enrichment pipelines that combine LLMs, classical ML, rules, workflow orchestration, and human review.
  • Drive the evolution toward autonomous pipeline construction using plain-language goals and system-generated workflows.
  • Own the ML-facing catalog data layer, including canonical product metadata and policy controls for data use.
  • Partner with ML, search, ads, commerce, operations, and retailer teams to streamline end-to-end data flows.
  • Advocate for readable controls around source prioritization, rights management, licensing, and compliance.
  • Improve developer and operator productivity through AI-assisted testing, investigation tooling, and on-call automation.
  • Set and meet SLAs for core attributes and model usage.
  • Contribute to architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews, especially in exploratory areas.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing engineers as a people leader.
  • Experience leading production data or ML platforms, including batch and streaming components.
  • Strong foundation in distributed systems, data pipelines, and workflow orchestration.
  • Demonstrated build/buy/partner decision-making experience.
  • Experience owning data quality, coverage, or compliance commitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical work to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with catalog, commerce, or product data platforms operating at large scale (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration systems such as Temporal, Airflow, or Flink (preferred).
  • Experience shipping applied AI/ML features in production and weighing trade-offs across LLMs, classical ML, deterministic rules, and human review (preferred).
  • Familiarity with data governance, rights management, and licensing controls in multi-stakeholder environments (preferred).

  • Base salary range of $196,000 to $207,000 CAD for Canadian candidates.
  • Eligible for a new hire equity grant.
