Description

  • Lead the Service Platform team responsible for core deployment and release engineering systems, including canary infrastructure and end-to-end deployment tooling.
  • Set the vision and drive execution for internal platform tools that improve developer experience and service reliability.
  • Partner with product, infrastructure, and service teams to define and evolve deployment and release capabilities.
  • Own and improve systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient code delivery across Instacart.
  • Manage cross-cutting stakeholder relationships and balance competing organizational priorities.
  • Guide the team through ambiguous and technically complex problem spaces, including deployment infrastructure end to end.
  • Lead incident triage and help drive reliability-focused decision making.
  • Work closely with engineers and leaders to deliver platform and reliability initiatives end to end.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading and managing people.
  • 7+ years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Proven track record of launching and shipping high-impact products, especially internal or developer-facing products.
  • Strong proficiency in maintaining high standards for production services.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to contextualize problems for different audiences.
  • Experience building and shipping products to users is preferred.
  • Experience building platforms and high-scale infrastructure is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and engage the right stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $230,000-$242,500 USD in CA, NY, CT, and NJ.
  • Base salary range of $220,000-$232,000 USD in WA.
  • Base salary range of $211,000-$222,500 USD in OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, and HI.
  • Base salary range of $192,000-$202,500 USD in all other states.
