Description

  • Work with prospective medical school candidates and pre-med students to identify opportunities to strengthen their applications and draft application materials.
  • Manage relationships with applicants and families while providing strategic guidance on school selection, essays, resumes, letters of recommendation, interviews, and the admissions process.
  • Identify the best-fit medical programs and schools for individual students based on their background and career goals.
  • Support students with project planning, application timeline management, and progress tracking using internal organizational tools.
  • Stay current on the medical school admissions landscape, including program requirements and admissions criteria, to advise clients effectively.

Requirements

  • Currently in residency in an MD or DO program.
  • Graduated from a U.S. medical school.
  • Previous experience on a medical school admissions committee, including reviewing applications and participating in acceptance and rejection decisions.
  • Passion for mentorship and coaching pre-med students.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong English reading, writing, and editing skills for medical school essays and personal statements.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in project management and applicant tracking.
  • Experience in education, coaching, tutoring, or mentoring students.
  • Part-time, remote, 1099 contract role.
  • Role can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
