Description

Partner with regional and field operations leaders to align people strategies with business goals and growth plans.
Translate business needs into workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
Use data and insights to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and talent gaps related to engagement, retention, and performance.
Serve as the escalation point for complex employee relations issues, including performance management, corrective action, investigations, and terminations.
Coach field leaders on people management practices, difficult conversations, and risk mitigation.
Oversee and conduct internal investigations and ensure fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes with thorough documentation.
Partner with Talent and Operations teams to support hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies.
Lead or support employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, analysis, action planning, and leader enablement.
Provide guidance on compensation decisions, job leveling, promotions, and performance-based rewards.
Partner with the People Team on benefits administration, learning and development, and enterprise-wide initiatives.

Requirements

8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with significant experience supporting field-based, multi-unit, retail, restaurant, or hospitality teams.
At least 8 years of direct human resource management experience.
Experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
Strong employee relations expertise and experience handling complex, high-stakes situations.
Strong business acumen and a data-informed approach to problem-solving.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly with leaders and teams.
Ability to work independently in a field-based role while staying connected to a collaborative People Team.
High integrity, discretion, strong organization, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly California, including wage and hour, Fair Work Week, FMLA, OSHA, EEO, and ADA.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS system.
Ability to travel up to 50%.
Experience supporting multi-state and high-growth organizations preferred.
