Description

  • Administer U.S. health, welfare, retirement, and leave programs, including eligibility, enrollment, plan changes, and life events.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits questions and resolve issues with accuracy and discretion.
  • Manage carrier EDI feeds and payroll integrations, and resolve data discrepancies to ensure enrollment and funding accuracy.
  • Audit eligibility files, payroll deductions, vendor databases, and HRIS records to maintain data integrity.
  • Coordinate absence and leave administration with third-party administrators for FMLA, ADA, STD, and LTD transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and applicable state regulations.
  • Prepare and submit compliance filings and notices, including Form 5500, ACA 1094-C/1095-C, and PCORI.
  • Lead annual open enrollment, including system setup, testing, employee communications, support, and post-enrollment auditing.
  • Manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators, and support renewals and implementation projects.
  • Generate reports, maintain SOPs, identify process improvements, and recommend enhancements to benefits operations and employee experience.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of progressive benefits administration experience, with the ability to manage a full benefits program independently.
  • Hands-on experience with health and welfare benefits, retirement programs, and leave management.
  • Experience with benefits administration platforms and HRIS systems such as ADP, Workday, or Dayforce, including carrier file feed management.
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and state leave regulations.
  • Strong Excel skills for analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive personal and financial data with discretion.
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced, high-trust environment.
  • Experience in a family office, private wealth, or similarly confidential environment is preferred.
  • Prior involvement in benefits platform implementation or open enrollment system configuration is preferred.
  • CEBS, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
