Description

  • Ensure 99.99% availability for critical blockchain services and respond quickly to incidents and potential issues.
  • Develop and maintain open source tools for managing Cardano and Midnight infrastructure across AWS, Google Cloud, and bare metal environments.
  • Troubleshoot testing and deployment issues to identify and resolve protocol-level bottlenecks before mainnet upgrades.
  • Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines for Midnight projects using GitHub Actions and related tools.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide rapid mitigation for production interruptions.
  • Plan and coordinate the transition from a federated validator model to a fully decentralized validator network.
  • Apply best practices for monitoring, observability, security, and infrastructure automation across the platform.
  • Support protocol reliability and operational readiness for blockchain deployments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role, with direct experience in blockchain infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with Linux-based systems and administration.
  • Working knowledge of container environments and Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Proficiency with observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus for real-time monitoring.
  • Expertise in shell scripting, with knowledge of systems languages such as Rust, Go, and Python.
  • Extensive experience configuring, scaling, monitoring, and tuning services in AWS and Google Cloud.
  • Proven ability to write clear operational designs and blameless post-mortems.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Previous experience running and maintaining Cardano stake pools or partner chain nodes is preferred.
  • Experience with GitOps workflows and Nix for reproducible builds is preferred.
