Description

  • Lead and coordinate start-up and commissioning activities for electrical equipment across multiple customer sites.
  • Provide daily supervision, coaching, mentorship, and training to field service technicians.
  • Serve as the technical lead for product expertise and advanced troubleshooting support.
  • Travel to manufacturing and field service facilities to lead or support training, factory witness tests, and shop testing.
  • Identify project risks that could affect technician or project success and escalate them to management.
  • Work on job sites to complete commissioning activities and resolve punch list items.
  • Coordinate with IEM Project Managers to update punch lists and complete job closeout and documentation.
  • Partner with commercial and administration teams on requests outside the start-up and commissioning scope.
  • Ensure technicians have the tools, materials, and documentation needed to perform work effectively.
  • Report product or quality concerns and collaborate with production and engineering to address deficiencies.
  • Coordinate with division, field service, support, and site operations teams to schedule additional field resources as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, vocational training, military experience, or equivalent experience in power distribution systems or related commissioning activities.
  • Minimum of 2 years of field service experience with emphasis on start-up and commissioning of electrical equipment.
  • Experience with switchgear, electrical distribution systems, and electrical control systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with advanced communication protocols and networking concepts preferred.
  • Prior supervisory or lead-level experience preferred.
  • Understanding of lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures involving multiple power sources required.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision required.
  • Effective problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities required.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional travel up to 75% may be required to regional field offices, vendor sites, and customer job sites.
