Description

  • Lead and develop the accounting team, including direct reports across close, audit, tax, and related controllership functions.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure accurate, timely U.S. GAAP financial statements.
  • Partner with FP&A to reconcile results, explain variances, and align actuals with forecast and plan.
  • Oversee external audit activities, including auditor coordination, timelines, deliverables, fee discussions, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare audit schedules, technical accounting memos, and documentation for complex or non-routine transactions.
  • Evaluate and document accounting positions for healthcare-specific arrangements such as value-based care, revenue-sharing, capitation, and risk arrangements.
  • Lead internal audit and internal control strategy, including risk assessment, control design, and monitoring of control effectiveness.
  • Oversee the procurement function within Finance and improve contracting processes, policies, controls, and spend governance.
  • Partner with Legal, FP&A, Security, and business leaders on contract reviews, renewals, and commercial risk management.
  • Provide clear financial commentary and reporting for executive leadership, the Board/Audit Committee, investors, and lenders.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of corporate accounting or controllership teams.
  • Healthcare industry experience required, such as provider, payer, health tech, or related organizations.
  • Experience with value-based care models and healthcare risk arrangements, including capitation, shared savings, and downside risk.
  • Experience owning the monthly and annual close, external audit, and technical accounting for a complex organization.
  • Prior responsibility for or close partnership with external tax and audit functions.
  • Experience setting and executing internal audit and internal control strategy.
  • Demonstrated success driving process change, building new processes, and improving existing workflows.
  • Experience supporting Boards of Directors and presenting Audit Committee materials.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, integration, and scaling reporting/control frameworks.
  • Experience with modern ERP and financial systems, including data work and system implementations or enhancements.
