Description

  • Run end-to-end finance for a portfolio of ecommerce clients, including month-end close, management accounts, cash flow, reporting, and ad hoc analysis.
  • Deliver month-end close within 10 working days for every client, with full balance sheet reconciliations signed off to source.
  • Review day-to-day finance operations across the client portfolio and improve accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee supplier payment runs and ensure payments are properly approved and processed on time.
  • Maintain granular weekly cash flow forecasts so founders understand their cash position.
  • Own multi-channel revenue reconciliation using A2X or Link My Books across Shopify, Amazon, and other marketplaces.
  • Reconcile payment processor payouts, including fees, FX, refunds, and chargebacks.
  • Handle inventory and COGS accounting, including landed cost, stock adjustments, margin analysis, and 3PL reconciliations.
  • Lead weekly and monthly client calls, explain financial results, and surface risks and opportunities.
  • Manage and mentor Finance Managers, review their work, and continuously improve reporting packs, KPI dashboards, cash flow models, processes, and tooling.

Requirements

  • ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or an equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Strong technical accounting ability with end-to-end balance sheet reconciliations and clean close ownership.
  • 3+ years of experience owning end-to-end finance for multiple clients or business units simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of closing books within tight timelines, ideally within 10 working days or better.
  • Hands-on ecommerce accounting experience, ideally with Shopify and Amazon, A2X or Link My Books, multi-channel revenue recognition, and COGS.
  • Experience reconciling payment processors such as Stripe, Klarna, PayPal, and Shopify Payments, including fees, FX, and chargebacks.
  • Advanced Xero experience, including tracking categories, bank rules, reporting layouts, and consolidations.
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills with the ability to build financial models.
  • Confidence on client calls and the ability to explain numbers clearly to non-finance founders.
  • Preferred: experience at a multi-client accounting firm or fractional CFO practice, inventory-heavy ecommerce, AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, and mentoring or managing junior finance team members.
