Description

  • Complete a 7-month UX apprenticeship focused on an end-to-end startup project of your choice.
  • Build digital products and services from concept through execution.
  • Lead the end-to-end design process for a startup idea or topic of your choice.
  • Own product scoping, feature scoping, and overall project management.
  • Identify the target market and help position the product for launch success.
  • Develop a business model and explain how the product or service can scale.
  • Conduct discovery research, including recruitment, research planning, interview guides, interviews, and synthesis.
  • Create and present a compelling UX design and business pitch using qualitative and quantitative evidence.
  • Produce UX artifacts such as personas, stakeholder maps, journey maps, process maps, service blueprints, sketches, wireframes, prototypes, and workflows.
  • Lead usability testing and iterate on wireframes, prototypes, branding, and design systems.
  • Analyze competitors and articulate differentiators for the proposed solution.
  • Consult with startups and deliver UX research, UX design, product design, and service design work within project scope.

Requirements

  • Open to new grads and UX career changers.
  • Interested in creative tech career paths in UX research, UX design, product design, or service design.
  • Able to commit 5-10 hours per week to program deliverables.
  • Able to attend 2-3 hour weekend lectures or complete online video course modules.
  • Open to feedback from UX mentors and willing to revise design work.
  • Willing to complete the application process and submit a resume.
  • No UX resume or portfolio is required to apply.
  • Comfortable being considered for a cohort-based apprenticeship program on a rolling basis.
  • Able to participate in a brief interview process if selected.
  • Interest in working through the end-to-end design process for a startup idea.
