Description

  • Work through the end-to-end UX design and UX research process for a startup idea of your choice.
  • Lead product scoping and feature scoping, as well as overall project management.
  • Identify the target market and position the product for launch success.
  • Develop a business model and explain how the product or service can scale.
  • Lead discovery research by managing recruitment, planning research, writing interview guides, conducting 8-16 interviews, and synthesizing insights.
  • Deliver a UX design and business pitch supported by qualitative and quantitative evidence.
  • Create user-facing artifacts such as personas, stakeholder maps, journey maps, process maps, service blueprints, ideation matrices, sketches, wireframes, UX workflows, and prototypes.
  • Lead user testing of wireframes and prototypes and iterate based on feedback.
  • Design a unique design system from scratch, including components, a style guide, and branding.
  • Analyze competitors and consult with startups to define scope and complete UX research, UX design, product design, or service design work.

Requirements

  • Open to new grads and UX career changers.
  • Interested in creative tech career paths in UX research, UX design, product design, or service design.
  • Able to commit 5-10 hours per week to program deliverables.
  • Able to attend 2-3 hour weekend lectures or complete online video course modules.
  • Open to feedback from UX mentors and willing to revise design work.
  • Resume required for application, but a UX resume or portfolio is not required.
  • Available to participate in a brief interview process if selected.
  • Applicants are considered on a rolling basis.
  • If not contacted within 2 months of applying, the application should be considered closed.
