Description

  • Work through the end-to-end UX design and UX research process for a startup idea of your choice.
  • Lead product scoping and feature scoping for the chosen startup concept.
  • Manage the overall project from discovery through final presentation.
  • Identify the target market and position the product for launch success.
  • Develop a business model and explain how the product or service can scale.
  • Plan and conduct discovery research, including recruitment, interview guides, and 8-16 interviews.
  • Synthesize interview insights and use qualitative and quantitative evidence to support the problem and solution.
  • Create UX deliverables such as personas, stakeholder maps, journey maps, process maps, service blueprints, sketches, wireframes, workflows, and prototypes.
  • Lead user testing of wireframes and prototypes and iterate based on feedback.
  • Analyze competitors and deliver a compelling UX design and business pitch for the startup idea.

Requirements

  • Open to new grads and UX career changers.
  • Interest in UX research, UX design, product design, or service design.
  • Willing to commit 5-10 hours of work per week.
  • Willing to attend 2-3 hour weekend lectures or complete online video course modules.
  • Open to feedback from UX mentors and willing to revise design work.
  • Able to complete the program over a 7-month period.
  • Able to apply with a resume; no UX resume or portfolio is required.
  • Willing to go through a brief interview process if selected.
  • Applicants may be at the very beginning of their career change and still exploring multiple career options.
