Description

  • Receive and triage incoming chargeback notifications from payment processors.
  • Investigate disputes by reviewing order history, customer communications, shipping records, and call logs.
  • Build comprehensive rebuttal packages with evidence matched to each dispute reason code.
  • Submit dispute responses within processor-mandated deadlines with zero late submissions.
  • Track chargeback win rates, dispute amounts, and outcome trends.
  • Identify fraud patterns and coordinate with management on preventive measures.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve issues before they become chargebacks.
  • Prepare monthly reports on chargeback volume, win/loss rates, and financial impact.
  • Maintain compliance with card network chargeback rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with customer support, finance, and other teams to improve documentation and surface recurring issues.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience handling chargebacks, payment disputes, or fraud prevention in an ecommerce environment.
  • Working knowledge of card network dispute reason codes and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail for precise evidence assembly.
  • Ability to write clear, professional rebuttal letters in English.
  • Proficiency with payment platforms and dispute portals such as Stripe, PayPal, and Shopify Payments.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple disputes simultaneously without missing deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset to identify fraud trends and recommend improvements.
  • Experience with subscription or DTC brands is preferred.
