Description

  • Lead modernization of the detection engine to support Sigma v2, including stateful event correlation.
  • Rework existing detection pipelines and build new pipelines on a common platform.
  • Define validation strategies for proving replacement pipelines behave equivalently before retiring legacy systems.
  • Build reliability mechanisms including latency measurement, liveness monitoring, alerting, and bounded recovery from volume spikes.
  • Develop coherent event schemas, data contracts, validation tooling, and schema-drift detection.
  • Set technical direction across engineering teams and lead major cross-team workstreams.
  • Write, review, and operate production code in Go and across the broader technology stack.

Requirements

  • Deep experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed production systems, primarily in Go.
  • Experience substantially re-architecting or replacing live, high-throughput systems without disrupting consumers.
  • Experience with high-volume event or data pipelines and their behavior under load.
  • Strong observability and operability practices, including alerting for missing expected work.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership across team boundaries without relying on positional authority.
  • Strong judgment regarding production readiness, evaluation, and risk.
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and a security-focused approach to correctness.
  • Experience in security operations or security engineering, including detection development or SOC work (preferred).
  • Experience with detection-as-code, rule or DSL-driven systems, and specification parsing and evaluation (preferred).
  • Experience building tooling for rule writers, analysts, or researchers; Ruby on Rails experience is also preferred.
