Description

  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, IT, and Quality teams on automation projects.
  • Design control systems and automation solutions aligned with company standards and project requirements.
  • Develop project specifications covering cost savings, capital expenditures, RFQs, timelines, and resources.
  • Program, test, and debug PLC, DCS, MES, SCADA, and HMI systems.
  • Integrate motion controls, safety PLCs, sensors, actuators, instrumentation, vision systems, and industrial networks.
  • Manage third-party integrators and conduct FAT and SAT validations.
  • Test and validate system performance, safety, reliability, and operating simulations.
  • Troubleshoot escalated automation issues and analyze system data for process optimization.
  • Create technical documentation including wiring diagrams, ECRs, flow charts, BOMs, calibration procedures, and user manuals.
  • Train plant, engineering, maintenance, and controls personnel while identifying efficiency, cost, and safety improvements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • At least 1 year of controls engineering or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with IEC 61131-3 PLC programming and HDNA standards.
  • Intermediate experience with Omron Sysmac Studio and Allen Bradley Studio 5000; Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of motion control, safety PLC integration, HMI development, vision systems, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of ECAT, EPL, EIP, DeviceNet, CANOpen, and serial networks.
  • Knowledge of electrical panels, power distribution, field wiring, and systems up to 180VDC and 480VAC.
  • Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, ANSI B11.19/20, NFPA 70E, SCCR, UL508, EN954-1, and HDMS standards.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multiple small-to-medium projects, with intermediate analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally; collaborative robot programming experience is preferred.
