Description

  • Define electrical subsystem architectures, including power distribution, sensor and communications interfaces, and marine connector and harness strategies.
  • Select components and create bills of materials while balancing performance, cost, and availability.
  • Own schematic capture and PCB layout through manufacturable board designs.
  • Produce connector, harness, and cable specifications for fabrication.
  • Review bench testing and bring-up results from the in-person team and iterate designs accordingly.
  • Participate remotely in design reviews aligned with program schedules and test milestones.
  • Maintain schematics, BOMs, design notes, and other engineering documentation.

Requirements

  • Hands-on PCB layout experience, including schematic capture and board layout using Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or similar tools.
  • Subsystem-level electrical design experience, such as power architecture or sensor interfacing.
  • Degree or equivalent hands-on experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong fundamentals in circuit design, power electronics, signal integrity, and component selection.
  • Familiarity with Arduino, STM32, Teensy, Pixhawk, or similar microcontroller and flight-controller platforms.
  • Familiarity with Embedded C/C++ or Python.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment while coordinating with an in-person team.
  • U.S. person status and eligibility for SECRET clearance sponsorship if required.
  • Power electronics, battery management, EMI/EMC, marine-rated hardware, ArduPilot, ArduSub, MAVLink, IMU/GNSS, or mechanical CAD experience preferred.

  • $50–$100 per hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Fully remote work anywhere in the United States.
  • Flexible part-time schedule of 15–30 hours per week.
  • Regular remote collaboration with the Fort Worth, Texas team.
  • This part-time position is not eligible for health benefits.
