Description

  • Plan and implement features according to specifications while prioritising work to deliver on time.
  • Work within standardised technical processes that support collaboration and consistency across the team.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with teammates and clients, raising questions or concerns early.
  • Develop and maintain reusable plugins, shared libraries, and internal tooling.
  • Refactor code and carry out bug fixes.
  • Collaborate closely with others as part of a small delivery team.
  • Take greater project leadership and ownership on senior-level work, including technical direction and best practices.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes, tooling, and engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Experience working with modern WordPress, including block themes and the Site Editor.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering with PHP and/or JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end best practices, including performance optimisation and accessibility standards.
  • Ability to debug your own code and other engineers' code using debugging tools.
  • Solid understanding of MySQL and database-driven application considerations.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integrating data from external services.
  • Experience using Git and GitHub, including branching strategies and pull request workflows.
  • Experience managing dependencies with tools such as npm and Composer.
  • Ability to set up local development environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with good English language skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Interest in AI-assisted development tools and understanding of their appropriate use and limitations.
