Description

  • Own the technical accounting function, including U.S. GAAP research, policy development, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Set the financial reporting roadmap and ensure technical conclusions are sound, scalable, and aligned with business strategy.
  • Lead core accounting operations end to end, including payroll accounting, order-to-cash, close governance, and reconciliations.
  • Own international accounting and tax compliance operations, including multi-currency consolidation, intercompany eliminations, statutory reporting, and domestic and cross-border tax filings.
  • Serve as a key liaison to external auditors and tax advisors on accounting and compliance matters.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team with clear standards and scalable playbooks.
  • Drive accounting transformation through process standardization, automation, and responsible AI adoption.
  • Establish, document, and maintain internal controls, SOPs, control frameworks, and process standards across accounting operations.
  • Drive SOX readiness, including control design, scoping, deficiency remediation, and SOP adoption across the team.
  • Improve close discipline, reporting accuracy, cycle time, and overall finance function scalability.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant leadership across technical accounting, financial reporting, controls, and operational accounting.
  • CPA license required.
  • Public accounting experience, preferably at a Big 4 or national firm.
  • Experience in a technology, SaaS, or similarly complex business environment.
  • Deep technical accounting expertise with the ability to translate complex U.S. GAAP guidance into practical business applications.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving technical accounting memos, policies, audit support, reporting deliverables, and executive-level conclusions.
  • Proven experience leading and developing team members and building repeatable operating practices.
  • Hands-on knowledge of month-end close, reconciliations, flux analysis, journal entry review, accruals, and intercompany activity.
  • Experience implementing new tools and accounting and tax compliance operations.
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional influence skills, with the ability to explain technical accounting risks to finance and non-finance leaders.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and strong follow-through.
  • Practical interest in using AI, automation, and systems-enabled workflows to improve accounting quality, controls, and scalability.
  • Preferred experience in SaaS, software, marketplace, subscription, or high-growth technology environments.
  • Preferred experience with ASC 606, equity-based compensation, software capitalization, leases, impairments, business combinations, strategic transactions, IPO readiness, public-company reporting standards, SOX readiness, or finance transformation initiatives.
  • Preferred experience partnering with executive leadership, external auditors, outside advisors, and legal or tax stakeholders on complex accounting matters.
  • Preferred experience with NetSuite, Numeric, Anrok, Salesforce, SQL, BI tools, close automation, or reporting automation tools.
  • Preferred experience evaluating or implementing AI-enabled finance and accounting tools.
