Description

  • Own profit and growth performance for Personal Lines Auto and Home across 44 states.
  • Develop and execute state-specific strategies to achieve loss ratio, retention, growth, and expense targets.
  • Analyze internal performance data and external market intelligence to identify drivers and translate findings into action plans.
  • Establish portfolio guardrails and maintain disciplined underwriting and segmentation strategies.
  • Partner with Pricing and Actuarial teams on rate indications and state pricing strategy.
  • Lead the end-to-end rate, rule, and form filing process, including proposal development, regulatory submission coordination, and objection management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with state Departments of Insurance.
  • Monitor portfolio mix, catastrophe exposure, geographic concentration, and emerging risks, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Lead implementation of product changes across Technology, Operations, Distribution, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams.
  • Manage state performance reviews, action tracking, filing calendars, and post-implementation measurement.
  • Maintain competitive awareness of pricing, underwriting posture, coverage positioning, and distribution dynamics.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of state product leaders and managers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Personal Lines insurance.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-state product portfolios with direct P&L accountability.
  • Deep understanding of rate, rule, and form filings and state regulatory environments.
  • Proven ability to translate analytics into actionable strategy in partnership with Pricing/Actuarial teams.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership experience across Underwriting, Claims, Distribution, and Technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel 35%–50%.
  • Experience leading large-scale, multi-state portfolio transformation initiatives (preferred).
  • Proven success in both profitability remediation and growth acceleration strategies (preferred).
  • CPCU designation or advanced degree such as an MBA (preferred).
  • Experience working within both captive agent and direct-to-consumer distribution models (preferred).

  • Salary range of $210,000 to $250,000.
