Description

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and live chat.
  • Support educators with questions about life and retirement insurance policies.
  • Develop strong knowledge of Horace Mann life and retirement insurance products, services, and policies.
  • Resolve customer issues and identify solutions to unmet needs.
  • Deliver a high-quality customer experience in written and verbal communications.
  • Maintain quality and compliance by following company and state regulations.
  • Proactively up-sell and cross-sell insurance solutions to existing customers.
  • Participate in assigned duties and activities as business needs change.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of customer service, business, or sales experience preferred.
  • Insurance or finance industry experience is helpful.
  • Must successfully complete the Service Representative Trainee Program.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Life license and/or 6/63 license within 12 months of hire.
  • Basic math skills and billing interpretation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use active listening, system navigation, research, problem-solving, critical thinking, organization, and time management skills.
  • Reliable internet with at least 10 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload speed; verification required.
  • Must have a private, organized work location away from household distractions.
  • Must be able to work any shift between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm CST Monday-Friday, plus Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm CST.
  • Position cannot be performed remotely from New York, California, Colorado, Washington, New Jersey, Maryland, Alaska, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oregon, or Rhode Island.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range of $16.20 to $25.43, commensurate with experience and location.
  • Fully remote work arrangement, subject to company approval and state restrictions.
