Description

  • Inspect and evaluate damage to insured and third-party vehicles in a timely manner.
  • Determine whether vehicles are repairable or meet state requirements for total loss designation.
  • Prepare accurate repair estimates using estimating software and vehicle inspections.
  • Issue estimates, claim payments, and claim correspondence accurately and efficiently.
  • Audit repair facility estimates and negotiate fair repair costs consistent with company standards.
  • Review supplemental damage claims to ensure they are related to the loss and settled appropriately.
  • Communicate proactively with customers throughout the repair process and provide timely updates.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers, repair facilities, agents, and internal business partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insureds, claimants, agents, repair facilities, and company personnel.
  • Represent Horace Mann professionally in customer and repair facility interactions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid California driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required state adjuster licenses.
  • Must reside within California's Inland Empire region.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a territory.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • 5+ years of experience in auto body repair, collision estimating, body shop operations, or field appraising (preferred).
  • Experience with CCC estimating software (preferred).
  • I-CAR certification and/or body shop training (preferred).

Benefits

  • Remote, field-based position.
  • Company-provided vehicle.
  • Annual base pay of $66,500 to $92,000 plus bonus.
  • Salary commensurate with experience and location.
  • Special rates and benefits for educators.
