Description

  • Architect, build, test, and ship production TypeScript web applications using React/Next.js and Node.js services.
  • Own internal applications and platform architecture, implementation, deployment, and long-term reliability.
  • Design and maintain back-end services, REST/GraphQL APIs, and third-party integrations.
  • Deploy, operate, monitor, secure, and optimize applications and infrastructure on Google Cloud or AWS.
  • Lead product areas from workflow discovery and technical design through ongoing improvement.
  • Partner with creative, production, and operations teams to turn workflows into reliable software.
  • Integrate LLM APIs, AI agents, and automation capabilities into applications.
  • Set engineering standards through code reviews, testing practices, documentation, and technical best practices.
  • Serve as technical lead on selected client projects and occasionally direct freelance developers.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, frameworks, and technical approaches as needs evolve.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years using TypeScript/JavaScript as a primary language.
  • Expert TypeScript experience, including advanced types, generics, strict-mode codebases, and type-safe API contracts.
  • Deep experience building production Node.js APIs and services with Express or similar frameworks.
  • Deep React experience with component architecture, hooks, state management, data fetching, and performance optimization.
  • Production Next.js experience, including App Router, server components, SSR, routing, and caching.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating production applications on Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and environment and secrets management.
  • Strong SQL and PostgreSQL or similar relational database experience, plus working knowledge of document databases.
  • Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as Vitest/Jest and Playwright.
  • Strong communication, autonomy, architectural judgment, and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide a resume, statement of interest, and code samples/public GitHub; TypeScript React/Next.js or Node.js work is preferred.
  • Infrastructure-as-code, internal-tool, creative-tool plugin, Python/Bash, AI product, agency/studio, or open-source experience is preferred.
