Description

  • Drive technical strategy on Honeycomb’s largest and most complex deals in partnership with Strategic AEs and Sales Leadership.
  • Lead discovery, solution design, and executive conversations tied to customer engineering and business priorities.
  • Own the technical win by defining success criteria, guiding POCs, running competitive bake-offs, and building stakeholder conviction.
  • Advise engineering leaders and executives on AI-era observability, modern operations, and software delivery practices.
  • Translate complex customer environments into clear architectures and solution narratives for both technical and business audiences.
  • Use AI tools efficiently and accurately while maintaining human review and oversight.
  • Instrument applications, troubleshoot technical issues, and help customers validate outcomes in real environments.
  • Create scalable technical assets such as content, reusable demos, repeatable architectures, and thought leadership materials.
  • Deliver demos, workshops, and presentations that influence customer decisions.
  • Collaborate across Sales, Product, Marketing, Field Engineering, and DevRel to improve go-to-market execution and demo strategy.
  • Bring field feedback back into the company to help shape product direction and future demos.
  • Mentor peers and model strong judgment, autonomy, and leadership.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of pre-sales, solution architecture, or customer-facing technical experience in B2B SaaS, ideally with strategic or enterprise accounts.
  • Proven success winning complex, high-value deals with multiple technical stakeholders and sophisticated buying committees.
  • Experience selling into developer, platform, SRE, or engineering-led organizations.
  • Executive presence with the ability to tailor communication from practitioners to the C-suite.
  • Strong solutioning skills, including clear whiteboarding, simplification of complexity, and technical strategy development.
  • Hands-on fluency with modern cloud environments, CSPs, containers, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and API-driven architectures.
  • Working knowledge of observability, distributed tracing, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Ability to navigate code and implementation details across languages and frameworks to guide instrumentation and validation.
  • Experience owning complex POCs and evaluations, including success criteria, risk management, and disciplined execution.
  • Collaborative cross-functional experience influencing Product, Engineering, and GTM teams.
  • A point of view on observability, developer tooling, and AI-assisted workflows, with enthusiasm for customer modernization.
  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC or Command of the Message is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel about 20% for customer engagements, field events, and internal collaboration.
