Description

  • Lead or support safe, efficient production in surface and/or underground hard-rock mining operations.
  • Strengthen compliance with MSHA standards and site safety systems, including risk assessments, controls, audits, and incident prevention.
  • Drive operational performance through planning, shift and crew execution, and KPI management for cost, tonnes, recovery, and availability.
  • Support mine planning and scheduling, including short interval control and short- and long-range plans, and help optimize production.
  • Provide technical input on drill-and-blast, ground control, ventilation, and geotechnical risk controls where applicable.
  • Optimize plant and process performance by improving throughput, recovery, and product quality and troubleshooting bottlenecks.
  • Lead maintenance and reliability improvements for mobile and fixed plant, including shutdown planning, asset strategy, and availability.
  • Manage contractors and vendors to meet scope, schedule, budget, and safety expectations.
  • Support projects, expansion work, commissioning, and operational readiness.
  • Coach and develop teams while improving standard work and continuous improvement routines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering/Geology, Metallurgy/Mineral Processing, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience for certain leadership roles.
  • Typically 5–12+ years of progressive experience in metals mining or comparable heavy industrial operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of MSHA compliance and practical safety leadership.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: operations leadership, mine planning/scheduling, drilling and blasting, processing optimization, reliability/maintenance, technical services, projects, or HSE systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS tools such as SAP or Maximo, fleet/dispatch systems, condition monitoring, planning tools, and MS Office/Power BI.
  • Ability to work on-site.
  • Flexibility for rotation or shift schedules depending on the site.
