Description

  • Review medical records, billing statements, and insurance documentation to identify lien claims and possible reductions.
  • Communicate and negotiate directly with medical providers, insurance companies, and lienholders, including Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, and private insurers.
  • Prepare lien summaries, settlement statements, and net recovery breakdowns for attorney review.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of lien communications, negotiations, and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and case managers to ensure all liens are resolved before settlement disbursement.
  • Follow up on outstanding lien negotiations to support timely case closure and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state lien resolution regulations and firm protocols.
  • Track and report lien status updates and negotiated savings on a weekly basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Paralegal or Lien Negotiator, ideally in a personal injury law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of medical liens, subrogation rights, and reimbursement obligations.
  • Familiarity with personal injury law, settlements, and disbursement processes.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with a professional, client-centered approach.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-savvy and experienced with case management software such as MyCase, Filevine, or similar.
  • Authorized to work as an independent contractor in your home country.
  • Stable wired internet connection with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps and a reliable backup connection.
