Description

  • Administer, monitor, patch, upgrade, and secure Oracle 11g/12c/19c/21c and SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 databases across production and non-production environments.
  • Design and maintain disaster recovery solutions using Oracle Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, Log Shipping, and Mirroring.
  • Conduct DR drills, failover testing, and document RTO/RPO compliance while resolving replication and synchronization issues.
  • Manage OCI database services, including provisioning, backups, patching, monitoring, and related networking, storage, and security configurations.
  • Perform SQL tuning, execution-plan analysis, index optimization, and instance-level performance troubleshooting.
  • Execute database cloning, refreshes, data masking, backups, recovery validation, and cross-platform database connectivity.
  • Support database migrations between on-premises, cloud, and Oracle/SQL Server platforms.
  • Maintain database documentation, DR runbooks, and operating procedures; collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams.
  • Participate in production incident response and on-call support.‌

Requirements

  • 9+ years of hands-on DBA experience across both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, Log Shipping, or equivalent DR technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including database hosting and management.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning at query, instance, and infrastructure levels.
  • Experience with database cloning, environment refreshes, backups, and recovery using RMAN and native SQL Server tools.
  • Understanding of database security, patching, upgrades, database links, linked servers, and cross-platform connectivity.
  • Strong production troubleshooting, incident-resolution, communication, ownership, and prioritization skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Oracle OCP or Microsoft SQL Server certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Exadata, Autonomous Database, Shell/PowerShell/Python scripting, monitoring tools such as OEM or SolarWinds, or managed services environments is preferred.
