Description

  • Translate business goals into deployable end-to-end product systems.
  • Own email platform modules from architecture and data modeling through release, post-launch stability and continuous improvement.
  • Design versioned, documented APIs for email capabilities and integrations.
  • Rapidly prototype ambiguous ideas with AI tooling, validate with users and experiments, and iterate to production quality.
  • Build and maintain scalable, reliable email systems processing more than 40 million emails per day.
  • Evolve sending infrastructure, including IP pools, dedicated IPs and domains, to protect sender reputation and maximize deliverability.
  • Implement resilient processing through idempotency, retries, backoff and graceful degradation.
  • Optimize Vue.js frontend performance and Node.js backend queries, caching and latency.
  • Design transactional and analytical data models using ClickHouse, MongoDB and Firestore.
  • Instrument systems with monitoring, telemetry and measurable feature attribution while maintaining secure, well-tested software.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience building, operating and incident-managing production systems.
  • Experience building high-throughput Node.js and TypeScript backends using queues, workers and retry mechanisms.
  • Experience building product UIs in Vue.js or React.
  • Experience designing or re-architecting systems for 10x growth, including tradeoffs in queues, caching, partitioning and storage.
  • Experience building reliable data pipelines with idempotency, deduplication, reconciliation and robust error handling.
  • Experience modeling transactional and analytical data and optimizing queries over billions of rows in ClickHouse, BigQuery, Snowflake or similar platforms.
  • Production experience with GCP or AWS, including Kubernetes, Pub/Sub or SQS, managed databases and IAM.
  • Strong test-driven development practices and secure-by-default approach to authentication, secrets, PII and abuse prevention.
  • Experience shipping an AI or LLM-powered feature, including model selection, prompting, evaluation, cost and latency considerations.
  • Experience using AI coding tools for rapid prototyping while maintaining ownership of production code.
  • Experience with Go, email systems or deliverability, data pipelines or telemetry, strong UX sensibility, or a portfolio of deployed systems is preferred.
