Description

  • Own end-to-end feature delivery for the Wallet, Billing, and Taxes platform, including API design, backend implementation, and necessary Vue.js frontend changes.
  • Build and maintain stable, performant, and scalable backend services using Node.js, MongoDB, and distributed systems patterns.
  • Identify and resolve systemic reliability issues such as crashes, time-outs, race conditions, and memory leaks.
  • Drive performance optimization and cost-efficiency improvements through query tuning, caching, indexing, and cloud-spend reduction.
  • Reduce technical debt by refactoring critical code paths, improving test coverage, and removing anti-patterns.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including input validation, authentication flows, secrets management, and rate limiting.
  • Improve observability by adding logs, metrics, alerts, and tracing to production systems.
  • Collaborate closely with QA from the start of development, including test-case review, live demos, and rapid feedback resolution.
  • Contribute to internal tooling and automation that improve development and deployment speed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and resolve production incidents for owned services.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of backend engineering experience with exposure to scale, such as high TPS, large datasets, or multi-tenant environments.
  • Expert-level Node.js experience and a strong track record of writing clean, modular, reusable code.
  • Deep MongoDB expertise, including complex schemas, aggregation pipelines, indexing, and sharding.
  • Hands-on production experience with Redis for caching, rate limiting, pub/sub, and distributed locks.
  • Experience building and running microservices on Kubernetes, including deployments, services, and configmaps.
  • Strong hands-on experience with a major cloud provider such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Comfort contributing to the frontend with a modern UI framework such as Vue.js, React, or Angular; Vue.js experience is a plus.
  • Experience shipping and supporting large-scale, mission-critical systems that remain stable under heavy load.
  • Preferred experience with AI tools and contributions to open-source tools, internal platforms, or engineering blogs.
  • Preferred experience with NestJS or Express.js, Elasticsearch for search/filtering, or OLAP systems such as ClickHouse, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
