Description

  • Design and maintain Node.js/NestJS services for message storage, retrieval, and state synchronization.
  • Build well-typed REST APIs for Threads and Composer operations.
  • Model and optimize MongoDB and Firestore schemas for high read/write throughput and atomic updates.
  • Implement queues, caching, and rate limiting to handle burst traffic and improve resilience.
  • Ship modular Vue 3 user interfaces that consume APIs efficiently and support real-time state updates.
  • Instrument logs, metrics, and traces to monitor latency, error rates, and throughput.
  • Maintain high test coverage across unit, integration, and contract tests.
  • Participate in on-call support, debug production incidents, and drive post-mortem actions to completion.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Frontend leads on implementation decisions and delivery.
  • Review code and support junior engineers through mentorship and technical guidance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably in backend-heavy full-stack roles.
  • Strong expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Experience with NestJS or Express microservices.
  • Proficiency with Vue 3 or similar modern frontend frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, and distributed system patterns.
  • Experience with GCP or AWS, containerization, and CI/CD automation.
  • Hands-on experience with observability and production monitoring.
  • Experience with Pub/Sub or other message queues is a bonus.
  • Background in event-driven or domain-driven design is a bonus.
