Description

  • Own end-to-end structural simulation for drone products, major subassemblies, and critical components.
  • Define and derive loads, boundary conditions, and material properties for simulation models.
  • Build, validate, and correlate finite element models against test data.
  • Perform static and dynamic structural assessments, including modal analyses.
  • Plan and execute structural tests for model validation and technology derisking.
  • Translate test results into actionable design guidance and engineering decisions.
  • Produce design reports and sensitivity studies to identify optimal structural solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical design, systems, and test teams.
  • Ensure analyses and reports align with company quality standards and engineering guidelines.

Requirements

  • Experience building, validating, and correlating finite element models for complex aerospace or similarly demanding structures.
  • Experience using Simcenter or SolidWorks Simulation, or similar structural analysis tools.
  • Ability to analytically assess structural components such as bolts, bearings, and fittings.
  • Experience planning and executing structural test campaigns and correlating test data with simulation.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink or similar calculation environments.
  • Experience applying model order reduction methods to high-fidelity structural systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English for both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions with minimal guidance, and own outcomes end-to-end.
  • Preferred: experience with drone or UAV structural design and related load cases/certification considerations.
  • Preferred: proficiency in CAD tools for structural simplification and model preparation.
