Description

  • Build computer vision models for object recognition, tracking, video understanding, and scene matching.
  • Develop computer vision pipelines using state-of-the-art methods and architectures.
  • Design experiments and run benchmarks to evaluate model performance in real-world scenarios.
  • Adapt models and techniques to target hardware and downstream ML/AI constraints.
  • Collaborate with teams across different functions and backgrounds on impactful projects.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of AI capabilities in a defense context.
  • Evaluate, extend, and reimplement research methods and papers when relevant.
  • Develop production-ready AI software with testing, QA, and monitoring.
  • Help improve robustness against adversarial attacks and other challenging operational conditions.

Requirements

  • MSc in computer science, machine learning, robotics, or a related field.
  • Experience conceptualising, implementing, and thoroughly evaluating advanced AI-based systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to report and present research findings clearly and efficiently.
  • Strong software engineering skills and ability to write clean, well-structured Python code.
  • Experience deploying AI software to production, including testing, QA, and monitoring.
  • Passion for keeping up to date with current research and extending state-of-the-art deep learning papers.
  • PhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or a related field, with publications in top-tier journals or conferences such as CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICCV, ICRA, or IROS (nice to have).
  • Experience with object detection and categorisation, single- and multi-object tracking, scene understanding and matching, or 3D computer vision (nice to have).
  • Experience developing and evaluating state-of-the-art AI methods on edge devices with limited compute resources and delivering them end to end (nice to have).
  • Experience with simulators, emulators, or synthetic data generators (nice to have).
  • Experience with Rust and/or C++ (nice to have).
