Description

Supervise a team of 10-15 employees and ensure efficient, safe shipping operations.
Plan and assign work for subordinates and provide direction with minimal supervision.
Develop team members through training, day-to-day coaching, and certification completion.
Train new employees on standard operating procedures.
Communicate daily with carriers to ensure on-time compliance.
Collaborate with other departments in the distribution center to solve problems and support operations.
Maintain discipline, morale, and positive working relationships among team members.
Investigate and resolve personnel and employee issues within the area of responsibility.
Update data in computer systems, complete data entry, and maintain shift paperwork.
Report production status, performance measures, and shift updates to management throughout the shift.
Conduct daily shift meetings and safety meetings with employees.
Maintain equipment, report defective equipment, and keep the work area clean and in compliance with safety regulations.
Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results.
Work to continuously improve processes and manage departmental performance measures.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or related work experience.
Preferred: 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a production environment.
Intermediate computer skills, including data analysis/creation, Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, and email.
Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to take direction and relay information to employees.
Results-driven mindset.
Ability to use a computer and perform typing/data entry tasks.
Ability to support shift operations with minimal supervision.
