Description

  • Work with maintenance teams to diagnose issues and identify opportunities in conveyor, sortation, automated bagger, robotic, and other control systems.
  • Develop instructor-led technical training materials and deliver training to controls and automation technicians across the network.
  • Provide technical support and serve as the controls lead for installation and operational qualification at new launch sites.
  • Act as a resident expert in automation and controls and lead the technical training program.
  • Create and execute training classes focused on technicians’ needs.
  • Troubleshoot assigned equipment, develop corrective action plans, and support remote troubleshooting escalation when needed.
  • Review vendor quotes, service level agreements, and planned maintenance agreements, and audit vendor work for quality and SLA performance.
  • Mentor maintenance personnel and support the development of controls engineers and technicians across the network.
  • Partner with Engineering on commissioning of new systems and lead network-wide root cause analysis for controls issues.
  • Document work in CMMS and ticketing systems, maintain compliance with safety requirements, and write or revise PMs to standardize maintenance practices.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience maintaining and repairing large control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, fieldbus, and reader/vision systems.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in controls or automation environments.
  • Exposure to supporting live systems or production operations.
  • Practical experience with PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • In-depth knowledge of industrial OSHA, NFPA70E, and NEC requirements.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel as necessary, up to 75% for business purposes.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing technical team members.
  • Comfort working in cold environments, including areas at 40°F.
  • Experience in a startup environment with high ambiguity and change is preferred.

  • Colorado pay range: $95,890–$115,400 USD; Texas pay range: $89,200–$107,350 USD; Newark, NJ pay range: $102,600–$123,450 USD; Arizona pay range: $89,200–$107,350 USD; Illinois pay range: $95,890–$115,400 USD.
