Description

Provide direction and coaching to QA employees on QA checks, documentation, and work expectations.
Train new employees on standard operating procedures and company procedures.
Coordinate team workload by distributing tasks based on priority and ability.
Maintain accurate documentation for GMPs, HACCP, processing analysis, and environmental monitoring.
Monitor product and surface quality using inspection tools such as thermometers, gas analyzers, and food scales.
Update quality numbers and records in computer systems through data entry and program use.
Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the QA Manager.
Support continuous improvement efforts across QA and related business processes.
Lead and develop a large team while fostering cooperation, keeping employees on task, and meeting goals and deadlines.
Assist with performance management activities such as hiring, promotions, and performance reviews for assigned production lines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field preferred but not required.
1 or more years of related experience.
Expected to obtain certification as a power material handling equipment operator.
Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
Basic computer skills and the ability to input information into computer systems.
Leadership ability to train and develop a large group of employees.
Strong communication skills with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to work with confidentiality, problem solve, and stay results-driven.
Knowledge of sanitation, food safety, and quality processes.
Ability to take direction and relay information to employees.
