Description

  • Own the development, maintenance, and governance of ESH policies, procedures, standards, work instructions, and supporting documentation.
  • Translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear, user-friendly documentation.
  • Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, version control, and document management processes.
  • Lead technical writing for new and revised EHS policies and procedures, including supporting materials such as job aids and FAQs.
  • Interview subject matter experts to capture technical requirements and operational processes.
  • Partner with Communications and stakeholders to develop rollout and communication plans for ESH documentation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional review, approval, and implementation workflows across Legal, Operations, People, Quality, Engineering, and other teams.
  • Manage document review schedules, periodic reviews, and the full document lifecycle from creation through retirement.
  • Monitor document effectiveness and update content based on regulatory changes, audits, incidents, and operational improvements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and demonstrating document control compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Technical Communications, English, Engineering, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing, document management, ESH, quality systems, regulated industries, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting Environmental, Health & Safety management systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar regulatory and management system frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience writing technical policies, procedures, and management system documentation.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional document review and approval processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working within document management systems and version control processes.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with change management and organizational communications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Confluence, document control software, or enterprise content management systems is preferred.
  • Experience supporting DoD manufacturing or energetics regulated environments, AS 9100, ISO 9001, and Process Safety Management (PSM) is preferred.
