Description

  • Own the shared Shopify theme and design system architecture across current and future storefronts.
  • Build and ship major customer-facing features from design handoff to production, including bundle builders, membership flows, new brand launches, and international expansion.
  • Create AI-powered engineering workflows that improve team speed and enable non-engineers to do more independently.
  • Design scalable systems, shared components, and developer tooling that accelerate CRO testing, product launches, and brand rollouts.
  • Own site performance and reliability, including speed, SEO/GEO readiness, accessibility, uptime, and issue monitoring.
  • Build and maintain integrations between Shopify Plus and backend systems such as CRM, CDP, order management, and fulfillment.
  • Execute nCAC and retention roadmaps in production with full QA and rollout ownership.
  • Partner with Ecom, Growth, and Design to translate business priorities into technical milestones and identify dependencies early.
  • Champion engineering quality through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and clear documentation.
  • Launch new brands and storefronts onto the shared architecture as the company expands.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of full stack development experience.
  • At least 4 years building Shopify themes and apps with Liquid and React.
  • Proven experience owning Shopify front-end and back-end builds end to end, from architecture to deployment.
  • Experience building a shared theme or design system across multiple brands or storefronts, strongly preferred.
  • Daily use of AI coding tools as a core part of shipping work.
  • Deep experience with Shopify Plus, Liquid, React/Next.js, Node.js, Tailwind, GraphQL, REST APIs, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with headless commerce approaches.
  • AWS or GCP experience is a plus.
  • Personalization frameworks experience is a plus.
  • Additional performance monitoring experience is a plus.
