Description

  • Build and evolve iOS instrumentation SDKs using Swift and Objective-C.
  • Design and ship features including session tracking, crash reporting, sampling, context propagation, and OpenTelemetry integrations.
  • Own projects end to end and break ambiguous problems into incremental deliverables.
  • Develop modular solutions, ship MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate quickly.
  • Maintain quality through automated testing, CI, documentation, and backward-compatible upgrades.
  • Collaborate with backend, frontend, product, and solutions engineering teams on end-to-end observability workflows.
  • Engage with the open-source community by reviewing pull requests, discussing designs, and supporting contributors.
  • Mentor teammates, participate in technical design discussions, and help shape the mobile observability roadmap.

Requirements

  • Strong iOS engineering experience with Swift and Objective-C; Android experience with Kotlin or Java is optional.
  • Experience building or maintaining mobile SDKs, platform libraries, or developer-facing platform code.
  • Experience with performance-sensitive code, including startup time, memory usage, and network efficiency.
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry instrumentation, SDKs, collectors, or similar telemetry libraries.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in ambiguous, poorly defined scopes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working effectively in a fully remote, globally distributed team.
  • Customer-focused approach with interest in documentation, mentoring, developer experience, and roadmap development.
  • Open-source contributions to OpenTelemetry, crash reporting, or observability projects preferred.
  • Experience with React Native, Flutter, native bridges, mobile security/privacy, crash aggregation, session replay, or mobile telemetry sampling preferred.
