Description

  • Build and evolve fullstack RUM features across backend services, APIs, storage systems, and frontend experiences.
  • Design and implement systems to ingest, store, and query high-cardinality telemetry data using columnar or analytical databases.
  • Develop performant query layers and APIs that support real-time exploration of sessions, traces, and events.
  • Contribute to frontend applications that visualize RUM data and help users debug performance issues.
  • Work on data modeling, indexing strategies, and query optimization for low-latency, cost-efficient analytics.
  • Collaborate with SDK engineers to improve data ingestion quality and support schema evolution.
  • Own projects end-to-end from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Break down complex ambiguous problems into incremental deliverables and iterate quickly based on feedback.
  • Ensure quality through testing, observability, documentation, and smooth upgrade paths.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, frontend, product, and solutions engineering teams to deliver cohesive observability workflows.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of fullstack engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals.
  • Backend experience, with Go preferred, and frontend experience using TypeScript and React.
  • Experience building or operating distributed systems in production, such as Kafka, WarpStream, ClickHouse, Cassandra, or Postgres.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native systems, including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience working with high-throughput, high-cardinality data such as logs, metrics, traces, or events.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and performance tradeoffs.
  • Experience designing and building APIs and distributed services.
  • Experience building data-heavy UIs such as dashboards, query tools, or debugging interfaces.
  • Familiarity with observability concepts, including traces, logs, metrics, and/or OpenTelemetry.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
  • Pragmatic, self-driven, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for developer experience.
  • Experience with browser or mobile instrumentation and telemetry collection is a plus.
  • Mobile development experience on iOS or Android, or familiarity with mobile performance and telemetry, is a plus.
  • Contributions to OpenTelemetry or other observability open source software are a plus.
  • Experience building developer-facing platforms or observability products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with session replay, sampling strategies, or user behavior analytics systems is a plus.
