Description

  • Hire, manage, and develop a team of engineers with regular feedback and career support.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leadership to define squad goals aligned with business objectives.
  • Guide the team from early ideation through planning, execution, and post-launch delivery.
  • Foster a psychologically safe environment that supports learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Work across team boundaries and partner with other functions to solve customer problems.
  • Build and provision infrastructure resources, including storage, networking, and Kubernetes clusters, in new environments.
  • Provide a Kubernetes control plane and underlying resources outside public cloud for engineering.
  • Contribute to projects outside the team’s immediate scope when needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience building and managing on-prem or bare metal environments.
  • Experience guiding and supporting other engineers, leading initiatives or small teams, and driving projects to successful outcomes.
  • Ability to manage complexity, align stakeholders, and improve team performance.
  • Strong bias toward action and ownership, with comfort navigating ambiguity in complex problem spaces.
  • Comfortable collaborating across time zones and cultures in a fully remote environment.
  • Clear, empathetic communication skills that build trust, connection, and psychological safety.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, production-readiness, and observability.
  • Comfort with AI-assisted tooling and curiosity about using AI-powered tools in team workflows.
  • Preferred: experience running Kubernetes and/or Ceph in production.
  • Preferred: experience dealing with colo facilities and associated vendors.
  • Preferred: experience in open source or other community-based projects.
  • Must be located in Germany, Sweden, Spain, Ireland, or the UK.

  • Base compensation range in Spain: EUR 106,000 to EUR 133,000.
  • All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
