Description

  • Build interactive learning experiences inside Grafana that improve the end-to-end learner journey from onboarding to completion.
  • Create workflows and product features that enable non-engineers and other contributors to author, iterate on, and improve learning content safely.
  • Support private guides and learning experiences within the product.
  • Design trustworthy progress and completion tracking that helps measure learning outcomes and user engagement.
  • Instrument learning flows to understand what is working, what is failing, and where learners get stuck.
  • Treat observability as a product principle by building fast feedback loops using metrics, logs, traces, and user journey visibility.
  • Ship product code quickly while using AI-assisted development tools in a secure, tested, and quality-focused way.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and help operate the software in production as part of an end-to-end ownership culture.
  • Write clear documentation, design notes, and pull request descriptions, and occasionally demo or explain decisions to internal and external audiences.

Requirements

  • Based in the UK and able to work fully remote.
  • Strong in at least two of these three areas: AI harness experience, serious software engineering fundamentals, or Grafana context.
  • Hands-on experience using agentic AI development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor in real development work.
  • Ability to describe an AI-assisted workflow from scoping through iteration, validation, and testing, including how you manage security and correctness risks.
  • Experience shipping production-grade software and explaining architectural and implementation tradeoffs.
  • Strong focus on maintainability, correctness, and code quality.
  • Experience using Grafana in real environments such as dashboards, troubleshooting, on-call, or monitoring workflows.
  • Understanding of observability practices and how Grafana fits into them.
  • Meaningful open source contribution or maintainer experience is a plus.
  • Full-stack experience is preferred, though strong frontend-only or backend-only profiles are also welcome.
  • TypeScript and/or Go experience is a plus.
  • Kubernetes familiarity is a plus.
  • Experience with the broader observability ecosystem, such as Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, or OpenTelemetry, is a plus.

  • Base salary range of GBP 91,755 to GBP 110,106 in the UK, depending on level, experience, and skillset.
