Description

  • Influence the Alerting product roadmap and contribute to defining your own career objectives.
  • Design, build, operate, and maintain critical backend systems, owning reliability, performance, and availability.
  • Drive projects from initial ideation through implementation, shipping to customers, and ongoing operations.
  • Deliver new features with iterative improvements driven by results and customer feedback.
  • Build distributed systems to scale alert ingestion, delivery, and evaluation, and work to unify alerting setup/delivery for Grafana and Prometheus-based alerts.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of the services you run.
  • Contribute to Grafana open-source projects beyond your immediate team scope.
  • Mentor and support teammates and participate in design discussions and technical decision-making.

Requirements

  • Motivated self-starter with a bias toward action and customer focus.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for a fully remote engineering organization.
  • Pragmatic approach to solving complex problems: break down work, deliver MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate.
  • Solid experience with at least one programming language; familiarity with Go is preferred, and experience with Python, Java, C++, Rust or similar is transferable.
  • Experience delivering projects end-to-end, from requirements and design through shipping to customers.
  • Experience developing software that runs in the Cloud or experience with systems engineering.
  • Proven ability to write clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and operational support.
