Description

  • Influence the squad roadmap and set personal career objectives within the Alerting team.
  • Design, build, operate, and maintain critical backend systems, owning reliability, performance, and availability.
  • Drive projects from initial ideation through implementation and production operations, iterating based on customer feedback and metrics.
  • Build and scale distributed systems for alert ingestion, evaluation, and delivery to support large-scale Prometheus- and Grafana-based alerts.
  • Unify alerting setup and delivery so alerts work consistently across Grafana and Prometheus-based workflows.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of the services you run, handling incidents and post-incident remediation.
  • Collaborate with product, Grafana Cloud, and customer teams to gather requirements and deliver production-ready features.
  • Contribute to Grafana’s open-source projects and participate in design discussions while mentoring and supporting teammates.

Requirements

  • Motivated self-starter with a bias toward action and strong customer focus.
  • Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a distributed team.
  • Solid experience with at least one programming language; Go is used on the team (experience with Python, Java, C++, Rust or similar is transferable).
  • Experience delivering projects end-to-end, from requirements and design through shipping and running in production.
  • Experience developing software that runs in the Cloud or experience in systems engineering.
  • Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software that is maintainable by others.
  • Familiarity with designing or operating distributed systems at scale (e.g., scaling ingestion, evaluation, or delivery pipelines) is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and take operational ownership of services.

  • Competitive compensation in Ireland: EUR 104,000 - EUR 124,800 (country-specific ranges apply).
