Description

  • Design, build, and maintain user-facing tools for deploying, configuring, and operating Grafana Alloy, the OpenTelemetry Collector, and related components.
  • Own and evolve the Helm chart ecosystem used across large-scale Kubernetes deployments.
  • Build and maintain tooling that works across Kubernetes, Linux, Windows, and macOS environments.
  • Support infrastructure-as-code and GitOps integrations using ArgoCD, Terraform, Flux, and similar tools.
  • Collaborate with support, product, and field engineering to turn customer pain points into durable product improvements.
  • Communicate progress transparently, review peer code, and help raise the technical bar for the team.
  • Contribute upstream to open source projects including Grafana Alloy, OpenTelemetry, and Helm community charts.
  • Represent Grafana Labs at meetups, conferences, and social media forums.

Requirements

  • Remote applicants must be based in Spain, Germany, the UK, or Sweden.
  • 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience with at least one major programming language, with Go preferred; Python, Rust, and others are also welcome.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience, including deploying, operating, and debugging production workloads.
  • Familiarity with Helm and the Kubernetes resource model.
  • Experience building or maintaining tooling for external users or customers, including API/UX design, backward compatibility, and upgrade paths.
  • Comfort writing and maintaining automated tests at unit, integration, and end-to-end levels.
  • Comfort working in a remote-first, async, consensus-driven culture across time zones.
  • Direct experience with Grafana Alloy or the OpenTelemetry Collector is a plus.
  • Experience authoring or maintaining Helm charts, especially in community or production settings, is a plus.
  • Experience with GitOps tooling such as Terraform, ArgoCD, or Flux is a plus.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) is a plus.
  • Experience building developer-facing CLIs or configuration tooling is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Loki, Mimir, Tempo, or Pyroscope is a plus.
  • History of open source contributions and community collaboration is a plus.
