Description

  • Design and implement scalable services used across multiple Grafana Cloud products.
  • Develop features in collaboration with product teams, design, and documentation partners.
  • Help shape the technical direction and long-term strategy for observability solutions.
  • Represent Grafana Labs in open source forums, working groups, and events when needed.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Support teams to deliver a cohesive product experience.
  • Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations and own the services you operate.
  • Contribute to open source projects that may sit outside your immediate team scope.
  • Estimate, plan, coordinate, and deliver large technical initiatives across multiple systems.
  • Coach and mentor team members and help resolve technical and process issues.

Requirements

  • This is a remote role open to applicants in Sweden.
  • 8+ years of experience with at least one programming language.
  • Long-term experience in a major language such as Python, .NET, Java, or Rust, with willingness to learn Go.
  • Experience working with and monitoring Kubernetes in a production environment.
  • Experience with cloud-based software development and production systems.
  • Experience writing clean, maintainable, robust, and performant software.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience delivering projects end to end in a self-driven manner.
  • Experience in a hands-on technical leadership role setting technical direction and leading project teams.
  • Experience with distributed systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership skills.
  • Experience participating in on-call rotation and incident management.
  • Preferred: Experience designing and building observability backends for various systems and applications.
  • Preferred: Experience contributing to or maintaining open source projects, with successful pull requests and community collaboration.
  • Preferred: In-depth knowledge of cloud platform internals.
  • Preferred: Strong understanding of metrics collection, visualization, and alerting concepts.
