Description

  • Manage, hire, and develop a team of engineers working on Metrics products.
  • Provide regular feedback and support each team member’s career growth through ongoing conversations.
  • Act as a project manager and partner with product owners to keep the roadmap defined and up to date.
  • Remove blockers and impediments that affect team productivity and delivery.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and help teams align on technical and product decisions.
  • Engage in technical conversations and challenge teams to arrive at strong technical decisions.
  • Support autonomous engineering teams while maintaining clarity of goals and outcomes.
  • Interact with customers occasionally, especially large companies using Mimir to monitor their operations.
  • Help improve and refine team working practices to increase productivity and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Remote candidates must be based in Germany, Sweden, Spain, Ireland, or the UK.
  • Experience as a people manager, ideally coaching senior engineers and leading complex projects.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to manage a highly technical team and product.
  • Ability to engage in technical discussions and guide teams toward strong technical decisions.
  • Experience working in a fully remote environment and collaborating across time zones and cultures.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, ownership, and driving work forward in complex problem spaces.
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent experience from having worked as an engineer before moving into management.
  • Familiarity with Go, cloud-native systems, Kubernetes, Helm, and Jsonnet.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems is valuable or appreciated.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency, production-readiness, and observability.
  • Experience using AI-powered or agentic development tools in team workflows is preferred.
  • Deep customer focus and ability to ground technical choices in user needs.

  • Base compensation in Ireland of EU 117,000 to EU 137,000, depending on level, experience, and skillset.
