Description

  • Perform detailed electrical engineering work for federal projects, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and system design.
  • Prepare electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, and bid documentation.
  • Independently execute moderately complex electrical design assignments and make sound engineering decisions.
  • Serve as a technical liaison among federal clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to coordinate deliverables and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate electrical design efforts with multidisciplinary project teams to produce integrated, constructible outcomes.
  • Work with project managers on planning, cost control, procurement coordination, progress tracking, and technical risk communication.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, installation support, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Review design work and provide oversight or mentorship to less experienced engineers and technical staff.
  • Support quality assurance and quality control through design reviews, field observations, and documentation of changes and milestones.
  • Prepare clear project reports and technical summaries for clients, stakeholders, and internal leadership.
  • Attend project charrettes, design reviews, and value engineering conferences.
  • Ensure electrical designs and installations comply with NEC, NFPA standards, federal agency requirements, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical design, ideally with federal clients.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.
  • Deep understanding of DoD, VA, and federal design standards and processes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and federal stakeholders.
